Comment:

 recovered overwrite functionality. It was caused by ingenuous code in
 nooverlapname() R function, that was unable to check if a filename has
 already been used.

 Fixed in r137 of trunk.

 If more exhaustive testing show errors, feel free to reopen this ticket.
