Hi Paolo,

Thanks for you email. I am keeping well. Busy organizing a workshop on the
use of GIS and remote sensing in savanna ecology. Their is increased
accessibility of remote sensing data for African countries, which opens up
many new possibilities.

I have also had a play around with AdeHabitat and my data, and I thought a
bit more about the AniMov/AniMove project.

I do not want to make trouble, but I really think the project should be
named Animove, not AniMov. The latter sounds like a machine gun of Russian
design. I think it is not too late to change it. The mailing list can stay
as it is, though.

I also think we are in need of a Wiki. I spend several hours (not
exaggerating) editing some pages on Wikipedia. Now that is collaborating
the way it was meant to be. It will solve the problems of trying to edit a
web site together, and it will make the process much more democratic. It
will also relieve you off the effort to maintain the web site!

We could either use a Wikifarm (i.e. a hosted wiki, some are free for
non-commercial use) or you could set up a wiki on the faunalia web site. We
could also try to use sponsor money to get a wiki commercially hosted,
although this will make us dependent on sponsoring to maintain the wiki. I
could not find an option to create a wiki on alioth.debian.org or sourceforge.

Considering that the project would involve code snippets more than one
single code base, a wiki might be more suitable then either a
alioth.debian.org or sourceforge project!? I just can't wait to start
editing the project pages on a wiki. I must say it is rather addictive!

Let me know your thoughts!!

Sander.
