Good point.
I also had some encouraging responses from other hardware firms.
I think producers could partecipate to the collaborative process, helping us
to produce a free software they can distribute along with their material
(e.g. with printed materials as added value, etc.). Or, they could ask for
specific features (e.g. import filters ready for they data) and pay their
developers to write them.
Of course waht we need most is code, not money, and it is not so obvious how
to convert one currency into the other.
I would suggest that, in case we could get some money, we could decide
democraticaly (through the mailing list) how to use it (kind of a AniMov
Fund). Possible ideas are:
- -prize for the best thesis on AniMov
- -donation to relevant projects (R, GRASS, adehabitat...)
- -grant to good projects
etc (I am sure many of you can have even better ideas).

Looking forward for your suggestions.
All the best.
